What is crawlspace encapsulation and why is there such a difference in pricing?

Putting cheap plastic on the ground in your crawlspace is NOT encapsulation. Crawlspace encapsulation is a lengthy process starting with proper prep, grading, and evaluating. Next, we install commercial grade products, like heavy duty vinyl vapor barrier, specialized tape and wall drainage board to both floor, walls and columns. During this process we also seal any openings which could allow outside air into the crawlspace. Finally, in most cases, we install a commercial dehumidifier and sump pump to evacuate any remaining water and moisture. The whole system approach assures a dry and conditioned are space.
